Summary: Ashoka University is seeking motivated individuals for Project Assistant and Postdoctoral Fellow positions in the fields of Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Immunology. These roles are part of a collaborative project aimed at identifying and analyzing novel antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) for therapeutic applications against multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens.
Job Description: The project focuses on the structural and functional characterization of AMPs and the identification of complementary molecules for antimicrobial cocktails. The work involves the use of large language models (LLMs) and comparative bioinformatics, followed by in-silico modelling. The positions are available in Dr. Imroze Khan’s laboratory at Ashoka University.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze big genomic, metagenomic, or proteomic datasets.
- Identify and characterize novel AMP variants.
- Conduct in-silico modelling of AMP structure and function.
- Collaborate with multiple laboratories on the project.
Qualifications:
- Project Assistant: BS-MS in Bioinformatics with experience in handling large omics datasets.
- Postdoctoral Fellow: PhD in Comparative Bioinformatics, Data Homogenisation, or In-silico Physicochemical Modelling. Proficiency in Python or R is required.
Salary:
- Project Assistant: Up to INR 45,000 per month.
- Postdoctoral Fellow: Up to INR 70,000 per month.
