Job Summary:
Jubilant Biosys, a leading collaborator for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, is seeking a Research Associate – 1 to join their Synthesis department. The candidate will be responsible for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel chemical compounds, contributing to drug discovery projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in organic chemistry and be capable of working collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesize, purify, and characterize novel chemical compounds.
- Deliver small to large quantities of novel chemical entities for drug discovery.
- Work collaboratively within a team to advance chemistry projects.
- Ensure the safe conduct of chemical reactions.
- Demonstrate expertise in basic and advanced organic chemistry, functional group conversion, and multi-step synthesis.
- Analyze NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry data with proficiency.
- Adhere to safe laboratory practices at all times.
- Exhibit enthusiasm and a willingness to stretch when project challenges increase.
- Utilize computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and structure drawing software (ChemDraw/ISIS).
- Maintain records in an electronic lab notebook.
- Conduct literature searches using Reaxys.
Educational and Essential Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or related field/M. Pharma.
- 1-5 years of industry experience with any leading CRO organization.
