Description: A biotechnology company in Cambridge is seeking a bioinformatician to join their growing team. In this role, you will develop complex bioinformatic algorithms that directly impact the company’s research and development programs and products, which blend science and engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop sequencing tools and algorithms to integrate with lab systems and support tools.
- Search for and validate open-source bioinformatics tools.
- Build an understanding of user lab processes and workflows.
- Develop cloud-based workflows to support biology and chemistry research teams.
- Lead bioinformatics projects from day one.
Qualifications:
- Developed code in Python with experience in bioinformatics.
- Engineering or science-related degree.
- Experience with cloud computing.
- Prior knowledge of experimental NGS data is advantageous.
