Your focus will be on uncovering the molecular mechanisms driving <strong>aberrant DNA repair<\/strong> and its interaction with <strong>DNA replication and transcription<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using advanced <strong>functional assays<\/strong>, <strong>molecular biology techniques<\/strong>, and <strong>unique patient-derived spheroid and xenograft models<\/strong> developed in-house, this project aims to lay the groundwork for <strong>proof-of-mechanism studies<\/strong> that can lead to breakthrough therapies for one of the most aggressive brain cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udd0d Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct high-level research on <strong>DNA damage repair<\/strong>, <strong>transcriptional interference<\/strong>, and <strong>tumor cell replication dynamics<\/strong> in GBM<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utilize and expand patient-derived <strong>3D glioblastoma models<\/strong> and <strong>xenografts<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan and execute laboratory experiments independently<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyze, interpret, and present research findings<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and <strong>national\/international conferences<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate across departments and with external academic and clinical partners<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83c\udf93 Qualifications &amp; Skills<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PhD (or equivalent)<\/strong> in <strong>biology<\/strong>, <strong>molecular oncology<\/strong>, or a related field<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated experience in <strong>molecular and cellular biology<\/strong>, <strong>cancer biology<\/strong>, or <strong>tumor modeling<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven ability to lead experimental design and data analysis<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong communication skills and a <strong>collaborative mindset<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A publication track record in relevant fields is desirable<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83c\udf0d Why Choose the University of Manchester?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a <strong>global leader in research and innovation<\/strong>, the University of Manchester offers exceptional opportunities for career growth, collaboration, and impact.
