We are offering an exciting student internship opportunity for Bachelor’s or Master’s students who want to make a real impact in the protein transition.
🧪 Your Mission: Rethink Protein with Fungal Fermentation
As part of Agrifirm’s Biobased Technology R&D Team, you will work on a cutting-edge fermentation process that transforms low-cost agricultural by-products into protein-rich fungal biomass. This biomass is being developed as a circular, sustainable alternative to soy in animal feed.
You will:
- Design and run your own lab-based fermentation experiments
- Operate lab and pilot-scale bioreactors
- Conduct assay analyses to study growth-promoting/inhibiting factors
- Research scientific literature to support experimental findings
- Help optimize the production process of this innovative feed ingredient
🎓 Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for students who are:
- Enrolled in a BSc or MSc program in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemistry, Food Science, or Microbiology
- Knowledgeable in fermentation, microbiology, nutrient composition, or bioprocess design
- Experienced in chemical and microbial lab work
- Analytical, independent, and pro-active
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
