About AstraZeneca’s Oncology Vision

AstraZeneca’s vision in oncology is to revolutionize cancer treatment. We aim to bring six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. Our broad pipeline of next-generation medicines primarily focuses on four disease areas: breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and hematological cancers. Additionally, we are targeting other tumor types through four key platforms:

  • Immunotherapy
  • Genetic drivers of cancer and resistance
  • DNA damage repair
  • Antibody-drug conjugates

These platforms are underpinned by cutting-edge technologies like personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies, which are central to AstraZeneca’s drive to bring innovative treatments to the forefront of medical science.

  • Execution of Tactical Plans: Drive the adoption of appropriate testing within your territory by executing targeted strategies that improve the overall testing rate.
  • Building Relationships: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as pathologists, molecular pathologists, diagnostic suppliers, laboratory decision-makers, thought leaders, and healthcare professionals.
  • Support Testing Facilities: Develop and support robust testing facilities in strategic centers by assisting with protocol development and troubleshooting testing bottlenecks.
  • Insights and Strategy: Provide critical insights to core medical teams to shape local strategies and ensure the successful execution of diagnostic plans.
  • Account Management: Use strategic key account management skills to enhance partnerships with healthcare professionals and diagnostic partners.

Internal and External Collaborations:

  • Internal: Work closely with the diagnostics team, core medical team, and brand teams to implement diagnostic solutions and strategies.
  • External: Engage with healthcare professionals, diagnostic partners, advocacy organizations, and professional associations to drive awareness and adoption of diagnostic solutions.

Requirements for the Role

To excel in this position, you will need a blend of scientific knowledge, practical experience, and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in Life Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, or Pharmacy.
  • Proven experience in molecular diagnostic marketing and clinical test sales, with a focus on oncology (lung cancer, women’s cancer, immunotherapy experience is a plus).
  • Expertise in scientific communication, with the ability to convey complex content to diverse audiences.
