🧪 About the Role: Fixed-Term Associate Scientist – Parallel Chemistry

📍 Location: Amgen Research, Copenhagen, Denmark

⏳ Duration: 12 months (parental leave cover)

🧑‍🔬 Department: Parallel Chemistry

👤 Reports To: Principal Scientist, Mathilde Daugaard

You will work closely with interdisciplinary drug discovery teams, driving small molecule synthesis from hit discovery to lead optimization and candidate selection.

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize multiple small molecules in parallel on a 2-micromole scale
  • Use both solid-phase organic synthesis (SPOS) and solution-phase techniques
  • Analyze data using HPLC/MS, UV, and CLND instrumentation
  • Innovate by optimizing current workflows and reaction conditions
  • Collaborate actively across chemistry and biology teams
  • Maintain accurate lab records and communicate findings in English

🎓 Basic Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in organic chemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline
  • OR Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of lab experience (academic or industry)
  • Strong foundation in theoretical and experimental organic chemistry
