Location: Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Description: The Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced bioinformatician to join the Department of Bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be involved in various research activities, including comparative genomics of extremophiles, genomics of resurrection species, and computational analysis of abiotic stress-derived transcriptome and metabolome datasets. The role also includes providing comprehensive support to experimental departments at CPSBB, particularly in analyzing “omics” data sets from cutting-edge technologies such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and whole-genome sequencing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct cutting-edge plant science research.
- Supervise PhD students.
- Write project proposals and assist with grant management and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Bioinformatics, (computational) Systems Biology, or related fields.
- Proven experience with medium and high-impact factor publications as a first author. Researchers with high-impact factor publications (IF>5) are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in NGS data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq analysis, genome sequencing).
- Experience in plant science and mathematical modeling is advantageous.
- Excellent English skills are mandatory.
