🔬 About the Bio-Optomechatronics Lab

The Bio-Optomechatronics Facility at TU Delft’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is launching a revolutionary initiative. By integrating biomedical research with optical imaging and mechatronics, we’re creating a synergy of science and precision engineering — and we want YOU to be part of it.

Your contributions will be vital in:

  • Guaranteeing biosafety compliance
  • Managing ML1 lab activities
  • Supporting research and education across departments
  • Maintaining advanced microscopy setups and biological equipment

🧪 Your Key Responsibilities

As a Biolab Technician, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact for lab safety and support
  • Coordinate ML1 lab operations
  • Train students in cell biology protocols
  • Maintain and order lab supplies and equipment
  • Provide biosafety training and uphold all safety standards
  • Manage lab schedules and space utilization

✅ Qualifications – What We’re Looking For

We are searching for a candidate with:

  • A relevant HBO/WO degree in Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or similar
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an ML1+ biosafety-level lab
  • Familiarity with cell biological techniques, microscopy, and bio-research tools
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Fluency in English; BHV/EHBO certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
