🔧 About the Role
The Production Operator / Plant Technician role is central to the safe, efficient, and quality-focused operation of our chemical plant. You’ll be responsible for:
- Operating and maintaining key plant utilities including the ICE plant, Cooling Tower, and Scrubber systems
- Ensuring product quality and yield meet defined specifications
- Conducting routine safety inspections and equipment checks
- Implementing EHS and Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) protocols
- Supporting continuous process improvement and project activities
🔍 Key Responsibilities
✅ Safety & EHS Compliance
- Adhere to EHS rules, PPE standards, and work permits for general, hot work, confined spaces, and work-at-height operations
- Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and PPE
- Maintain safe storage and correct hazard labeling of all chemicals (MSDS, SWP compliance)
- Actively participate in accident/incident reporting and investigation, contributing to root cause analysis
- Participate in departmental safety meetings, HIRA assessments, and safety training programs
🧪 Production Excellence
- Operate processes under strict guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Deliver products as per quality specs, maintain documentation, and monitor batch cycle times
- Ensure capacity utilization of personnel and equipment for optimal production output
- Support compliance with RC codes for process safety, environmental protection, and organizational excellence
- Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards throughout the shift
📋 Accountability & Collaboration
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
- Maintain coordination with quality control and support process development initiatives
- Handover duties effectively between shifts, especially on critical process areas
- Serve as a First Aider or Fire Fighter, ensuring immediate response in emergencies
- Support audits and management system implementations (ISO, Halal, NSF, etc.)
🏆 What We’re Looking For
- Technical diploma or ITI in relevant discipline (chemical/mechanical/process engineering)
- Experience in chemical plant operations, preferably with exposure to RCMS/EHS standards
- Strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Team player with good communication skills and discipline under pressure
- Willingness to work in shifts and handle emergency response responsibilities
