If so, the Integrative Model-based Cognitive Neuroscience (IMCN) Research Group at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) wants to hear from you.
This unique role combines postmortem human brain microscopy, ultra-high field MRI, and advanced statistical modelingโcontributing directly to the next frontier of human brain mapping.
๐งฌ What Will You Do?
As a key contributor to this research trajectory, you will:
- Perform microscopy processing on whole human-brain specimens
- Digitize brain slices and apply advanced image processing techniques
- Integrate and compare data from ultra-high field MRI
- Conduct statistical modeling to generate 3D reconstructions of the brain
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at UvA and international research partners
- Support groundbreaking work at the intersection of neuroanatomy, neuroimaging, and cognitive modeling
Your work will contribute to a large-scale, innovative effort to map the human brain using both in-vivo and postmortem dataโa pivotal step toward understanding the brain’s structure and function in unprecedented detail.
โ Who Should Apply?
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable candidate with:
- A Masterโs degree in neuroscience, engineering, biomedical sciences, or a related field
- A deep interest in image processing and computational modeling
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities to work within a multidisciplinary research team
