MSD Animal Health invites you to join our Tissue Culture Boxmeer (TCB) team as a Bioprocess Technician, where you’ll contribute to the production of viral antigens for pets and livestock using advanced cell culture techniques.

🧪 About the Role – Bioprocess Technician (Cell Culture & Bioreactors)
As a Bioprocess Technician, you will be hands-on in our cleanroom labs, supporting upstream (USP) and downstream (DSP) processes using roller bottles (RBs) and Single Use Bioreactors (SUBs). Your work will directly contribute to the development of high-quality veterinary vaccines for animals ranging from cats, dogs, and rabbits to pigs, cows, and horses.
🔬 Key Responsibilities
- Execute cell culture processes in cleanrooms (Class A and B), including:
- Cell inoculation
- Viral infection
- Antigen production
- Cell inoculation
- Operate and monitor roller bottles and Single Use Bioreactors
- Prepare media for cell and virus cultivation and inactivation
- Document all actions per GMP and internal quality standards
- Identify and resolve process issues, deviations, or equipment malfunctions
- Perform both upstream (e.g., passaging, inoculation) and downstream (e.g., sonication, virus harvesting, concentration, purification) steps
- Contribute to root cause analysis and process improvement using tools like the 8-step method and Kaizen
🧬 What We’re Looking For
🎓 Education & Experience
- Completed MBO Level 3 or 4, HLO, or a relevant HBO degree in biotechnology, biology, or life sciences
- Experience in GMP production and aseptic techniques preferred
- Technical mindset or affinity for working with lab equipment
- Clear and effective communication in Dutch (spoken and written)

- Comfortable wearing cleanroom gear
- Willing to work in cleanroom and bioreactor environments
- Strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
