📍 About the Role — Research Associate, Cell Culture
Ampersand Biomedicines is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Research Associate to join our collaborative Cell Culture team in Plzeň, Czech Republic. This is your chance to contribute to world-class antibody discovery and play a key role in shaping next-generation biomedicine.
This is a full-time, on-site, laboratory-based position reporting to an experienced Scientist within the Microfluidic Department.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
As a valued member of our Cell Culture team, your contributions will directly impact the success of our therapeutic pipeline:
✔️ Cultivate and manipulate mammalian cells to support complex experimental workflows
✔️ Express, produce, and analyze target proteins in mammalian systems
✔️ Apply molecular cloning techniques for gene insertion, modification, and expression studies
✔️ Use protein labeling and advanced microscopy (phase-contrast, fluorescence) for imaging and analysis
✔️ Conduct and meticulously document experiments per SOPs and established protocols
✔️ Support daily lab operations and equipment maintenance
✔️ Foster a positive, team-oriented culture built on collaboration and curiosity
🎓 Your Qualifications & Skills
✅ Education: BSc or MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; a qualification as a biological/medical assistant is also valued
✅ Experience: Practical, hands-on knowledge of mammalian cell culture is highly desired
✅ Nice to have: Familiarity with flow cytometry, molecular biology, protein purification and characterization (affinity, SDS-PAGE), and bacterial cultures
✅ Soft skills: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset
✅ Mindset: A passion for learning, refining protocols, and understanding the science behind the techniques
✅ Language: Ability to work in an international team; written lab documentation is in English
