๐Ÿš€ Postdoc / Bioinformatician Position (Remote-Friendly) โ€” Unravel Human Immunity with Single-Cell Omics! ๐ŸŒฑ

Are you ready to push the boundaries of single-cell transcriptomics and human immunology? Join an elite research team at the intersection of bioinformatics, immunology, and cutting-edge genomics โ€” all while working remotely from anywhere in the world! ๐ŸŒ

This is your chance to contribute to ground-breaking research in the human immune system, collaborating with the Leibniz Institute’s Department of Infection Immunology and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), one of Europeโ€™s leading research universities.

๐Ÿงฌ About the Role: Bioinformatician / Postdoc in Single-Cell Transcriptomics

Weโ€™re looking for a motivated bioinformatician, computational biologist, or postdoc with experience in single-cell analysis to join our team and help decode the molecular mechanisms regulating the human immune system. Your work will directly contribute to understanding immune regulation in tissues and clinical settings like organ transplantation and inflammatory diseases.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Your Mission:

  • Analyze high-dimensional scRNA-seq datasets (10x Genomics platform)
  • Apply and optimize existing bioinformatic pipelines
  • Unravel the cellular dynamics of human immune regulation
  • Collaborate within the scope of our prestigious ERC project ORGANise-T
  • Co-author high-impact publications (e.g., Nature Immunology, Science Immunology)

Recent publications from our lab:

  • Soll D. et al., Nature Immunology (2024)
  • Chao et al., Nature Immunology (2023)
  • de Almeida et al., Science Immunology (2022)

๐ŸŒŸ Why Join Us?

  • ๐Ÿ  100% Remote โ€” Work from anywhere globally
  • ๐Ÿ”ฌ Access to state-of-the-art datasets & pipelines
  • ๐Ÿ… Join a high-impact research team with top-tier publications
  • ๐Ÿ’ผ E13 or E14 salary level depending on experience (TVL scale)
  • ๐Ÿ“† 2-year initial contract with possible extension
  • ๐ŸŒ Collaborate with global leaders in immunology and single-cell genomics

โœ… Who Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Bioinformatician, computational biologist, or postdoc with life sciences background
  • Proven experience with single-cell RNA-seq (scRNAseq) data analysis
  • Familiarity with platforms like 10x Genomics or BD Rhapsody
  • Strong skills in computational pipelines (Seurat, Scanpy, etc.)
  • Passion for understanding the human immune system

๐ŸŒ Where You’ll Work

Our group is based at the Leibniz Institute in beautiful Jena, Germany, but you can work remotely from anywhere in the world ๐ŸŒŽ. We are part of the internationally renowned Technical University of Munich (TUM) network โ€” a powerhouse in engineering, medicine, and life sciences with a โ‚ฌ1.8 billion annual budget and over 50,000 students.
